thankful thursday + adventure 7

This past week I've been so thankful for friends and family and the time Elle and I have spent with them. I'm also more and more thankful to have a husband who is so loving, thoughtful, and who is actively present in our lives. I have new appreciation for single and/or military parents. They are my heros and I do not know how they do it all the time. Elle and I have missed Chris so much while he's been gone and really 3 weeks doesn't even compare to how long some families are apart. I am so blessed that he takes time out of his day to talk on the phone, send a postcard, or skype.

I'm also thankful we got to go to Tulsa last weekend and spend some time with family celebrating my mom's birthday. My sister's and I wanted to do some special so we threw her a "Ruby Red Rendezvous". Red is her favorite color and ruby is her birthstone! I'm so appreciative to all who came and supported my mom and Elle's Nana. I'm especially thankful for Michelle and Casey's hard work on the party!

Also thankful for a little swimming at Aunt Lynessa's house!

thankful thursday and forgetful friday

I completely forgot it was time for another Thankful Thursday yesterday so I'm going to squeeze it in. Since starting this I have found things each day to be thankful about and I think to myself I need to put that on the list.


I'm thankful...
that Elle, Mops, and I have survived while Chris is gone.
that Chris made it to VA safely and the wonderful couple he's staying with.
for a sweet husband who makes time to talk to us via phone, skype, text, email, or postcard.
for baby belly kicks!
for friends and family who want to spend time with us so we won't be lonely.
for some rain and cooler temps for at least a couple of days.
for maintenance who will check out the stinky water situation.

thankful thursday: a great daddy

I'm dedicating this Thankful Thursday to Chris since we were not with him for Father's Day. I'm so thankful that Elle and #2 has a Daddy that loves them so much. He works so hard for them and wants to make this world a better place for them. He is the best person ever! His heart belongs to God and is such a wonderful example of a Christian man, father, and husband. He loves to cuddle and play with Elle. He constantly tells me and her how much he loves her. And he's so loving even when she's tired and grumpy.

He's willing to carry her in the really long Little Mermaid line and then the ride while she sleeps

He'll take her to swim in the freezing pool

He'll ride the carousel again and again because she loves it

He'll finally go on the Dumbo ride just for her

He loves her momma


And he spent a whole day in an airport to get us a free trip. Not to mention the fact that he didn't eat anything, but plane food to save money.

For Father's Day we got Chris some new running shoes, and I had seen this idea in a magazine, so the card and the gift went together perfectly! (I turned my back for 2 seconds and she went crazy with the marker! He still loved it though.)

Today I'm thankful for:

*maintaining patience on Elle's first day of potty training
*a surprise-to-me orientation meeting to scope out the new juniors
*a much needed nap

This week I've been thankful for:
*hearing the baby's heartbeat
*Elle getting to have bible class with Aunt Beth
*a quiet week in the dorm
*being able to cook for my family

jumping on the bandwagon...thankful thursdays

Several friends from church are doing a "Thankful Thursday" post on their blogs and they've been very inspiring, so I thought I would join in. Especially after having so many things thrown in my face this week that I have not been more appreciative of. So here are a few of things that I'm thankful for this week:


1) God gave us our beautiful Elle, who is healthy and bright.

2) We are fortunate enough to live at OSSM for free, eat for free, with beautiful grounds, security, and a basement to ride out a storm.

3) We were able to host the girls from our floor in our home tonight. That they are so wonderful to Elle, and are tolerable of Mops. That they are so polite and that so far everyone we've talked to requested our floor again!

4) That some hardworking, talented, deserving kids from Podunk, Oklahoma are graduating on Saturday and heading to places like Harvard, Notre Dame, Duke, Chicago, etc.
