christmas trip to guymon

Really proud of our cubs! On our way to Guymon yesterday we lost a bolt out of one side of the breaks. They really worked together and had great attitudes during our mini-crisis. We had just gotten to Enid and had to pull over about 50 yards from a Sonic. In the rain. They were troopers walking with me to the bathroom. There’s also no shelter from the rain at sonic. We did order lunch, but then had to walk back to the van. We we’re going to get a tow truck, but ended up driving about 3 miles to the Honda dealership. About a little over an hour later, one new bolt in, several trips to the bathroom to dry clothes with the hand dryer, and one and half bizarre episodes of the Discovery channel show Homestead Rescue and we were back on the road!

the gathering place

We took our first trip to The Gathering Place while in Tulsa. It’s this new gigantic park on the river. We spent a couple hours and really enjoyed it. It’s beautiful, and has so many spaces to play. You really can’t do it all in one trip. Chris and Casey took the big three, while I followed Copper around. He loved playing, but didn’t like the sand at all! He loved going barefoot on the padded stuff though. The Christmas lights made it even more beautiful. We can’t wait go back!

copper drew @ 18 months

Trying to keep up to date! Copper turned 18 months old on the 17th. How did we get here so fast? He is such a delight! He acts so big a lot of the times and it makes me sad that it’s going so fast with him.

He currently doesn’t say any words. I’m pretty sure his first word was “cheese” and several of us heard “gobble gobble” at thanksgiving. He has the cutest faces when we try and take his picture. He gets his “cheese” face on and has a big grin and squints his eyes. He loves to climb and run. He’s almost dangerous. He loves to get into all kinds of stuff and we affectionately call him a squirrel. He still loves to be outside and go on walks with Daddy. He loves playing with his siblings! And they love him so! Elle has really started to spend more time with just him, carting him around and doing activities with him. She’s so sweet and good to help. Current loves are reading, clapping, music, throwing a ball, and cars.

We love you so much Copper!

copper drew @ 3 months

Copper Drew, 3 months old
You are so wiggly now this month's picture was more difficult to take! You have rolled from your back to your belly a couple of times but can't quite get your arm free. Otherwise you like to play on your blanket and wiggle around in circles. You bring us all tremendous joy! I have to watch Reese like a hawk because she loves you a little too much sometimes. You started holding your head up really well and moved into your crib to sleep in at night. You found your voice this month and we love to hear you giggle when you get tickled or Daddy plays patty cake with you. You love sitting in your bouncy seat, chewing on your hands, and taking Mops for a walk.

summer 2018 pt 1

From August to May we experienced our first school year in West Virginia. One drawback of living here is that it's so far away from so many loved ones and places. One perk of Chris working at OVU is that his contract is a 9 month contract, therefore, giving him time to do other things in the summer months. This year we had several things we wanted to do during those months.

May 3rd- Copper, Reese, and I flew to OK because my youngest sister, Casey, was graduating from TU's law school. We spent about a week in Tulsa visiting with family.

May 9th- We went to OKC because I was doing a session at the Oklahoma Christian Children's Ministry conference. We spent about a week there so we weren't going back and forth. We stayed with Brennon and Tam, our good friends from Mayfair, and got to visit with several other friends. We went to a wedding of some college students, visited a new indoor playground, Reese got to play at her old gymnastics place, and we celebrated Mother's day and part of Reese's birthday there.
