todd's blue and gold banquet 2019

Tonight was Todd's Blue & Gold banquet. It's the time when the scouts get some of their badges and rank advancements. This year's theme was Nerf! Todd is always fun to watch with his scouts. He really comes into his personality when he's around his friends. His favorite part about scouts is getting to tell jokes. Chris has gotten to wear some of his old scout stuff, and I know his dad would be so proud of both of them!

powderpuff and pinewood derby 2019

Yesterday was the Powderpuff and Pinewood Derby for Todd's pack. They host it at their charter organization, Wayside Methodist Church.  This activity is totally for Chris and his cubs. The girl scouts and AHG troops go first in the Powderpuff. Elle didn't place, but she had fun. She designed her car herself.

Then the pinewood derby goes later in the day. After all the cub scouts and Webelos race, then they have a sibling class. Elle beefed up her car because there aren't as many rules for that one. Chris and Reese designed a car together this year.

Be prepared to wait! Especially if you have a big troop or pack because everybody has to race several times, plus tallying scores between races, and if anything happens to the track, etc. etc. I got in some good reading time. This is what the kids do while we wait.

The results: Reese won most realist car, Elle placed 2nd in the sibling race, and Todd got 3rd for his den. So everybody got some hardware!
