copper is 1!

Our baby brother bear turned 1 in June! This year really has flown by. He has been such a sweet gift to our family. This year Copper shared his birthday with Father's Day so we had double the celebration. We went to church at Mayfair, and then ate lunch at Iguana Grill in downtown OKC because we had a gift card we had never used. (Yes, I kept up with several OK gift cards for a year!) Then we went back to Brennon and Tam's and opened presents. That evening we went to a nearby splash pad and then ate ice cream afterwards. He really got into opening his presents.

Here's what I posted for this month:
 Copper Drew, 12 months

Happy 1st Birthday! You really conquered walking this month. However, sometimes you think you can run, or you’re as big as your siblings, and have ended up with some bumps and bruises. Fun things we like to see you do are dance, blow bubbles, give high fives, “talk” on anything that looks like a phone. You love playing with magnets on the refrigerator, playing in the water, throwing a ball, reading books, knocking down towers, and driving vehicles. We all adore you, and have had such a joyful year with you! You are our West Virginia baby. A prayer we have for you is that you walk with God, and with Him you’ll move mountains.

Copper has been such a wonderful addition to our den. His first year has been quite adventurous, with a dozen flights already under his belt. He was so easy going through our move, which was a huge blessing. He has fit right in with the other three, and they adore him so much. His first year has been one of change, but good change. We all had to adapt to a new person, but since we were all in a new place it was doubly challenging. He has been a light in a tough situation though. He's had constant entertainment and love. I can't wait to see how his relationship with the other three grows over the next year. Over the last year I've really tried to soak in every minute with him. Because I know it goes so fast. He's so happy, playful, sweet, smart, and loving! Enjoy a little Copper and his first year!
